A Tree Is Best Measured When It's Down
The artists had one tree from the Amsterdam municipality cut down into sixty-four sections, then traveled with those to both their home countries, while making several wooden objects out of it.
The process was recorded in this publication, which displays the impossible trips undertaken by artists Peter Sattler & Kristinn Gudmundsson with the enormous chunks of wood. The final outcomes were photographed and printed as one set of postcards. By the end of the project not one part of the tree's wood had been left unsused.
